The manufacturer warns that consumers should cease using the X-Comp A/T product immediately.
Gladiator Australia – subsidiary of American Pacific Industries Inc – has recalled its X-Comp A/T light truck tyres, citing a high risk of structural wall failure.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says “a separation of the tyre sidewall may occur. This may lead to rapid pressure loss or reduced performance in the tyre.”
“If there is a rapid pressure loss or the tyre degrades this may lead to tyre failure, resulting in loss of vehicle control,” the notice continues.
“This may increase the risk of an accident or injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
According to the manufacturer, consumers should stop using the product immediately.
Gladiator is currently contacting owners who may be at risk, however you can reach out here to find out more.
