Hyundai has followed its September unveiling of the regular Tucson with a first look today at its powered-up sporty variant.
A trio of official teaser images for the upcoming 2022 Hyundai Tucson N Line has been handed down today, following the September unveiling of the regular new Tucson models.
While the standard Tucson is due here in the first half of 2021, Hyundai Australia says it expects the Tucson N Line to reach Australia “by the end of 2021”.
Full details for the new flagship variant (unless a full-bottle Tucson N model surfaces) are still to come, but power is expected to come from the same 213kW, 422Nm 2.5-litre turbo petrol powertrain that drives the recently unveiled Sonata N Line sedan. (See our Sonata N Line video here.)
For 2021, Hyundai’s Australian N Line range will include the i30 Sedan N Line, Kona N Line, Sonata N Line and Tucson N Line – again confirming that the i20 N Line revealed in October will be skipped in favour of the hotter i20 N. (See our i20 N review here.)
At the top end, we’ll see the i20 N as described above, along with the newly facelifted i30 N hatch (review) and the i30 Sedan N.
“This leaves one N model to be announced” the company’s local arm said cryptically today. What will it be? Although it hasn’t been unveiled, we’ve been told to expect the Kona N here as well.
In other Tucson news, the regular new 2021 Hyundai Tucson SUV has today made its big debut in the United States – its namesake market – ahead of an Australian launch set for the first half of next year.
