The motors, battery, and suspension system from the Porsche Taycan have been reconfigured by Audi to create the ultimate high-performance electric tourer.
The 2021 Audi RS E-Tron GT is slated for launch mid-next year in Europe, with Australian deliveries to follow soon after.
The all-wheel drive electrified high-performance tourer – which is a mechanical cousin of the Taycan from fellow VW-subsidiary Porsche – produces 440kW/830Nm from its dual motors (335kW at the rear and 175kW at the front).
That’s enough to launch the car from zero to 100km/h in “less than” 3.5 seconds,
Speaking to Australian journalists on Tuesday, an Audi spokesperson said this supercar-rivalling figure could realistically be as low as 3.3 seconds with launch control.

Top speed is limited to 250km/h and, when driving slowly, agility and stability are optimised by a four wheel-steering system.
Despite its lightweight carbon fibre roof and carbon ceramic brakes, the car still weighs a hefty 2.3 tonnes.
This is owed largely to the 83.7kWh battery pack, which is integrated into a skateboard chassis and will likely permit a range of about 400km.
The E-Tron GT will be built at Audi’s Bollinger Höfe factory in Neckarsulm, alongside the R8 supercar.
